A short story about The Secret of Happiness.

A short story about the secret of Happiness relates to our daily routine life where at times we are caught and smashed by the circumstances but than what happens to us, Kumar has been targeted by the circumstances and Mr. Hardy has smashed him. Now he is moving all alone. Will he have a chance to meet unending happiness at this Juncture. And if he can than we all can.

Kumar’s Anger- In a story – The secret of Happiness.

A-short-Story-The-Secret-of-Happiness.I was much annoyed and full of anger While driving my car on the Walkan mountains, that evening, I remember that day. I was pronounced with such words which otherwise, nobody has ever dare to speak with me and that too for blaming me, only for the utter failure of loosing the tender, which my Boos, Mr. Hardy Thomas, always wanted to win.

Mr Thomas was otherwise used to be very Polite and gentle in the office but what went wrong, I was trying to find what made Mr. Thomas to bash my identity for the failure of not winning that Tender. He blamed my working, my strategies and even challenged my devotion, which otherwise he never did since the Time, I Joined Steel grid Industries.

The five years spend while working in Steel grid industries were really enjoyed by me until that blatant day which came in my life. That day, I suppose, I felt as I was mentally drained in the meeting.

I still remember, I felt as I was targeted, as the result of the tenders is never in our hand, hence their win or loss was inevitable and taken as the Part of the Job. Then what for I was treated harshly by Mr. Thomas hardy?

Kumar’s visit to Johns coffee Shop- In a story – The secret of Happiness.

A short Story -The Secret of HappinessI wanted to go to Johns coffee shop, just to spend some time, just to talk to him so that, his casual smile may make me feel easy. I know, I was trying to forget the happening of the days work. I was very much clear that, I never wanted to move to my home, as occasionally, I did. I was like fearing to be alone in my loneliness, hence wanted to move within the traffic, to make me realize that I was not alone or aloof, as otherwise, the case would have been when I would have moved to my home.

Hey Kumar, how are you, a booming voice of John make me realized that, I have reached my destination. I parked my car and moved out with a smile. I was trying my best to hide reality from Johns. All is fine John, say about yourself, I reverted him. Kumar, you are looking tired, I seem. Just your face, is revealing, I suppose, John asked me?

Kumar’s dialect with Johns in coffee Shop- In a story – The secret of Happiness.

Yeah, lot of pending works list provided by my boss, may be a reason for that, while I personally feel, I am alright, I reverted again trying my level best to keep my smile.  Just coming right away from my office, I further added, as a supportive answer to hide my actuality of my outward experience.

The-Secret-of-Happiness.Johns made a signal to Jenny (Johns wife) to replace him from the counter while carrying on their evening task of providing coffee and snacks to the other various customers of the shop and I saw John himself coming with a Tray of my snacks and my favorite cappuccino. Kumar, Swamiji is coming today, I will like you to meet him, once, John told me, while forwarding the tray.

Swamiji’s at entrance – In a story – The secret of Happiness.

Who Swami ji, I interrogated? A man who has changed my life, Johns, eyes were like sparkling while making mention of Swami ji. I wanted to denounce the very concept of believing in any Swami ji, but hardly I could do that because the affectionate pursuance of Johns could not be negated by me. I reverted with a positive gesture.

Moreover, somewhere I also wanted to learn that how John could manage a vibrant energy all the way long with that welcoming smile to all his customers, which I never noticed of being faded away. How could Johns very Persona carried an affection and off course that Potent energy, which often I noticed was all the same in the Night hours, which probably, I have noticed in the hazy mornings, also.

Swami ji’s Persona – In a story – The secret of Happiness.

The-Secret-of-Happiness.It was not much time spend while I was trying to concentrate on the magazines in the Johns coffee shop, that a man in saffron Shawl and dhoti entered the coffee shop. I cannot forget that first sight of Swamiji, His beaming face, his glittering forehead and that glaring eyes.  The shoulders and the chest making you realise the masculine power endowed in his simplicity. Johns hastened to touch his feet while Jenny following her.  Swamiji, I saw clutched both of them and reverted with how are you my beautiful children’s, God Bless you, and all.

I remember, that it was not only me but almost every one of us in Johns coffee shop who were endlessly seeing Swamiji.  What was charming about Swamiji, I questioned myself which was acting like a magnetic field drawing everybody’s attention Probably his appearance or his entire persona carrying him with utter simplicity, the questions like relentlessly rippling in my mind until, Swamiji raised his voice and Told Enjoy, enjoy we are all meant to enjoy on this Planet.

Not leave any moment get away simply without enjoying it. These are very precious and divine and hence you all perpetuate to live in Bliss as wonderful living beings. I still remember those words which like they put me on a very different note. I was feeling energetic.

Swamiji’s Persona – In a story – The secret of Happiness.

Soon Swamiji vanished on towards the back side of the Johns coffee shop swaying his both the hands to the people, rhythmically moving his both hands upwards to the sky, while Swamiji continuing his words Enjoy , enjoy .John took me on the backside of the restaurant, where he has gardened flowering Plants of Lilly, rose and many other floral plants, along with a Banyan Tree in the middle area of the available land.

I saw Swamiji siting over there, beneath the Banyan Tree. I was very impatient to talk to him, I suppose, but any how wanted to maintain my composure of showing that I was literate and helped myself to not bent down to his feet’s, like John.

My friend Kumar, John introduced me to Swamiji. Swamiji looked me with those sparkling eyes while his face maintaining the versatile glow, I remember. He was smiling, come my boy, come near me, he unfolded his hands. He stood up and clutched me, saying how are you doing Kumar.

The very touch of his body like infused me with what I can narrate as an intense energy. Putting his hands on my hairs while his fingers like searching for something, his gentle feel made me remember of my mother’s touch.

Swamiji’s Persona – In a story – The secret of Happiness.

Everything will be alright, Kumar. Why are you worrying unnecessarily, what has alienated you from feeling Joy and happiness, he murmured while still his gentle fingers relentlessly making their findings from my hairs, I suppose.  Nothing, Swamiji, just came to Johns coffee shop, from my office, I still maintained my postures.

Good to hear, always visit your friends when you are in need of them but express yourself, to those whom you want to express, don’t try to hide your individuality, your inner expressions. Be you what you are. Don’t try to provide the postures of what you are not, he replied.

I was astonished on the comments of Swamiji. While John was still noticing my face. Yeah, you are very true Swamiji, but some time your revelations pose you, as a weak person and are often misjudged by the people. I still maintained what I have read and followed all the way in my life, in past. Swamiji, swayed his hands and asked me to sit near him, while Johns hastened back to coffee shop, as Jenny called him.

Swamiji’s dialect with Kumar – In a story – The secret of Happiness.

Swamiji smiled again and said Just stop fearing, as nothing can harm you, rather it’s only the fear which we carry all the way in our life that what others will think off and unenticingly we gradually go on compromising with what actual is needed by us and all, simultaneously losing are true identity.

Kumar is your Physical identity of this body, your parents have provided you with, but what about the identity of your soul, which is provided by that Almighty, that innate energy? It has perhaps no identity other than its residing in you, off which you are almost unaware off. Swamiji, continued.

You have ever since your self-consciousness  tried to make people aware of your Physical structure and do what they like and what they don’t to bring you, the fame, respect, love etc. what you have desired for from your physical existence but what the one who is living inside you, the one which the Almighty has provided you, with?.

Swamiji explains Self-realisation In a story – The secret of Happiness.

Swamiji compassionately was delivering his words with that incessant smile. Have you greeted your soul any day, have you ever asked him about his liking’s, have your ever tried for him to make him enjoy? To feel him joyous? Swamiji was delivering his words which were echoing in my heart. Obviously, we don’t even care to feel the existence of the soul or count it as we have to make our soul happy, though we all know that this soul within us will live in permanence till, we delipidate.

A-short-Story-The-Secret-of-Happiness.As we don’t even recognize it more than an energy keeping us alive, we hardly care for it, because we believe that it has to pursue our living without even, we maintaining any duty towards it. Rather we keep on trying to make our approaches and put our all energies to make happy those who are basically not our part or you can say they who live in out-world, of yours.

Just focus on yourself, be with your soul, realize its presence, love it and enjoy its presence within you. Always try that we have to make our soul happy and then comes any other thing. I was confused on listening Swamiji’s dialect and hence asked him but how can I know what will makes soul, happy and how can I keep him Happy? Just talk to yourself in silence.

Swamiji’s reveals the practical aspect of Self- realization.

Sit in silence, your soul will reveal everything but surely will take some time to reveal as you have spent many years unhearing him. Try closing your eyes in the silence of the morning or during the sunset time.

Start taking deep breaths and make your senses to call within yourself with due respect and love, you will certainly meet him. Its only within you. Don’t get afraid what the outer world will say, start staying with your souls, realizing it, its presence, cherish his closeness. He will guide you entirely through your life. But don’t ever distant from him.

This is only the path to self-realization, your path to endless joy. Your path where nothing will fear you, Swamiji, replied.

Kumar’s interrogation about worldly pleasures in a story – The secret of Happiness.

Then what about my office works and those worldly duties which, I have to perform, I interrogated Swamiji? Continue them as your part of life, your duties without indulging your utter emotions towards them. Or else they will deprive you of your innate Joy. Because these worldly pleasures and elements keep on changing, they will try to distract your initial moments but once when have realized the presence of that innate energy within you, nothing will stop you to become Joyous.

Swamiji, further told me that don’t get detached from the out-world also but realize the truth of its flakiness and at the same time the truth of your existence, your true love. It’s very simple.

Kumar’s realizes the Truth of Self-realization – The secret of Happiness.

I noticed myself, taking deep breadths while my hands touching the feet of Swamiji. I was like numbed of listening that what the hell of the mistake, I have done. Even not greeted my Soul, as a guest within me. Swamiji, revealed don’t be guilty my child innocence is not counted in Almighty’s book.

A short Story The words like showered me with Bliss. I relentlessly continued taking deep breadths and trying hard to find someone to greet within me. Swamiji, Can I visit with Johns to your cottage, you can visit me any time, whenever you like my child. I am there for you.

I was like on the top of sky, I remember. Everything was like inviting me for love. The evening was shaping in the night while I was admiring the Sky with my eyes just searching for the love from it, those lovely birds flying, like their chirping was full of melody, which I never ever noticed in my past.

What had happened to me at that time, I have no words to narrate it better I just know that even the thought that some divine is living along with you, for me only, that very realization turned the magic. I remember, that since that day, I have never been in any of the mental trauma, or feeling low, I don’t even know what does feeling low, symbolizes, since then.

Kumar’s revelation in a story – The secret of Happiness.

One thing more which, I want to reveal is that on the very next day, I entered my office, after meditating, as Swamiji, told. I  greeted Mr. Hardy, with very Good morning, Mr. Hardy uttered, to forget the last day meeting moments in front of my office Staff, he added that he was very sorry for the Past day, but, Soon , I clutched him and told him, nothing to say sorry Boss, All is right, we have still many opportunities and many more to do than what we have done in Past. So, lets continue without any embracement.

One thing that has entirely changed my life as people say and reckon, is my living in persistent Joy. No fears and no worries. I don’t miss any chance to talk within me to realize myself and off course that mediation continues for 45 minutes in morning and prolonged sessions on my holidays.

It has certainly changed my vision of life. I have no regrets, no fire against anybody but a persistent Joy within me which surely enables me to perform my duties to this world. The utter happiness is showering since then, in my life and off course, innate Joy always keeping me in Bliss.

but what about you? Have you started with your knowing of your soul and more importantly with meditation?

A Short Story , “That great Banyan Tree”.

Kumar’s revelation of “That great banyan Tree”

Hi Kumar, hope everything is fine, they said you have gone to your native village at Naglakanchan. Shravan was inquisitive as usual. Shravan has just been graduated from Ambedkar University at Agra. He is a very helping young chap, studious and emotional by heart. Yes, everything is fine, I replied as if, trying to hide something from him. He neared me, Kumar, you seem to be exhausted, I suppose, henceforth returned early from your Native Village, only just within 2 days, I suppose. He again inquired. No, I replied, as I again, I was trying hard to create a gesture of smile on my face.

Kumar about her grandmother

We will meet near Lord Shiva’s Temple, I told him in haste and move to my residence, unlocking the lock of my Door. My two angels have left with their mother for their summer vacation at their Grandmothers Place. I was quick to have some packets of Milk from the street shop located at the corner of the street. And started to prepare Tea, a strong one with some Tulsi Leaves and ginger in it. This peculiar style of preparation of the tea was learned by me, by seeing that Old lady, whom, I adore and love much. She is none other than my grandmother (mother of my mother). It hasn’t been yet that, I have lived without remembering her in my thoughts and peculiarly the act of preparation of the Tea draws me closer to her in my present times, also. She left this world, just 2 years back, when, I was away, on one of my business Tours.

Back with a cup of tea, I was busy seeing the sky, changing its color to symbolize the nearing of the evening, while I was sipping the cup of tea, I remember that my heart becoming heavier, as If some act has turmoiled my emotions. Why I was feeling as I have met my one of the irreparable loss, I just wanted to move within my feelings. It was not much time spend until I managed to find that it was somewhere related to, “That Great Banyan Tree”.

Yes Friends, I Kumar, your own is again with a New Inspiring Story, in the name of  “That Great Banyan Tree”. A-Short-Story-That-great-Banyan-Tree

Kumar’s visit for vacation

I was on for my vacation and principally decided to have my full one week in my native village, Naglkanchan. Located in a remote area in the district of Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, India. My father still, adores being at the village with his brothers and those Old folks. He retired as Director and now envisions to start with a new entrepreneur to help his Natives, as he did in the Past while making many of the villagers to study and become engineer, during his Prolonged service Period where he was often admired for his intellect and dutiful nature. However, he is still searching for the right time, to deliver afresh. I was busy with the analysis when a Ticket collector ticked his Pad and asked me for a ticket. Drop me down at Jasrana, I told him, with he providing me a Ticket for the said destination in exchange for money.

Buses Only went till Jasrana, 10 Kilometres away from my Native village. You are than to adjust yourself in local transport, be it a tractor, a tempo, or those returning Jeeps with the folks sitting in them. I had not called anyone of my cousin brothers, as I always wanted to enjoy it from the very ground level, I presume.  I moved away from the group of persons lined for the Transport, though it was not easy to move with those heavy luggage’s on my back and one each in my hands. But then this was the destination that always lured me since my adolescence.

Kumar recognizes Shyam

I neared to one of the Handpumps and manged to full my water bottle, when a young man, covered with saffron, neared me, saying, ‘Tinkoo tum aagye ‘ in my native language, Hindi, meaning Tinkoo, my nickname, you have come. His voice was very soft and welcoming, yes, I replied. Shyam, I reckoned him. You have changed altogether. Have you become Sadhu (a Hermit)? I vehemently asked him? No, Tinkoo. Just on Saturday, I join the groups of these Hermit and enjoy Sermons, he further added, we still deliver food to the destitute from here and then those Loud Kirtans (devotional songs) in Night. And same repeats on the following Sunday under the direction of Satyadev Swamiji. He replied.

Come inside the cottage, he was quick to help me free my hands while taking my luggage. And soon we were on one of the neat and clean carpets, on the floor. The smell of the Hawan was like purifying my breadth, as it happens to me since my very childhood. Shyam is a learned young man posted as a Physics lecturer in one of the reputed colleges, at Mainpuri. You are alone, a question again raised by him, while he appeared with a Plate having some seasonal fruits and my favorite Sweet dish, Bessan Ladoo.

Yeah, I replied. All have gone for their vacation, while my parents in Delhi, for their vacation at my sister’s residence. No, Place left for me better than where, I got eyesight even without any medication, before being blind for about 6 months, when I was only two and a half years, I answered with a smile. The earth of this village has magic within, marked Shyam. Of course, it has, I was quick to answer him. It’s possibly because many religious preachers got enlighten here, only and attained salvation, beneath these banyan trees, his hands providing the direction. Yes, I proclaimed. Hence the soil has all the magic, full of medicinal qualities. Yes, the many old aged folks tell your story of how you got your vision on the full moonlight and astonished everybody, Tinkoo, they still remember. His soft and sweet voice was refreshing my old past, I presume.

Kumar and Shyam in the conversation of their Past.

Shyam, Swamiji, and many of his disciples used to live near the bank of the tributary of our village, you remember, then had they shifted from there and started afresh from here? And what about your lessons of Physics and many of them, which you delivered by standing beneath that Great Banyan Tree to all those young ones of our village? I asked him. Shyam forwarded the Plate and asked me to taste Bessan ladoo, he seemed not forgotten, my taste, I concluded. I picked them one after another, as their taste always provoked me for endless eating. Shyam was gazing at me with a smile, but I was able to realize that as if he was trying much hard to maintain it. Shyam, you have not told me about, your lectures and Shifting of Place of Swamiji, I again asked him.

Kumar and Shyam Framing Past with, That great Banyan Tree

Shyam anxiously told me, you are stating of my delivering the lecture, but you haven’t mentioned, yet of those marriages, hutments, etc. which surrounded that great Banyan tree. The people used to sit underneath it in a row with the bridegroom and his old folks being provided with those old wooden benches to sit on, while we all young ones collected to help them with water, tea, and breakfast on the so-called orders of our Old folks and Swamiji. Everyone seemed to participate in the marriage in his way. Remember all used to say that it was our village’s marriage. We hence were told to deliver the best of services to our guests, Afterall they were our all our Prime guests since they have come from another village and accepted our one of the village Girl as the Bride of their Family.

How deep were the senses of bonding? As if they have been taught or they have learned inheritance of heritage and culture from the roots of that great Banyan Tree? Shyam’s voice was like echoing form the Past, he further added that Let yourself be grounded to the depth and live for providing the shelter is the only way for peace and Harmony. And so, the people though varying in customs and traditions enjoyed deep Bond. Shyam’s eyes were like busy portraying the story of our golden Past while I could easily see, as his eyes sparkling in resonance with his words.

Yes, I added and then the entire village people coming to attend the function with all Joy and Blessings. Shyam do you remember our mothers collecting near the Banyan Tree for offerings to God. Those sermons, they all used to sing with the devotional voice and we all helping them by making the ground works of whether peeling or cutting of vegetables, for the food arrangement of the entire village during those festive seasons. It was like, that Almighty has spread all peace and love in our village and surely people living in Bliss.

Various Cultures, Festive occasions, and That Great Banyan Tree.

A-Short-Story-That-great-Banyan-Treeour attending of various cultural activities underneath it. Yes, I gasped at him. What a miraculous time we have to spend underneath it. Calling to those Birds, helping our village girls to knot the rope of the swings on the branches of that GREAT Banyan Tree. They even enjoyed it after they came to our village for the first time, after their marriage, for celebrating their First Savan( The bride comes to her parental home for some days during the monsoon season where they have a ritual to enjoy with swing, many songs are sung to celebrate this time) I remember, I was recalling from my past while in conversation with Shyam.

Recall Holi, when we all used to meet under that Great Banyan Tree and then all the whistling, those packages of foods collected from each village house and distributed among the destitute by us in the guidance of our Old folks and Swamiji, I can feel my sound still catching the glimpses of my Past.

Why the people cut Branches of That Great Banyan Tree. And now claim it as Old Banyan Tree.

Shyam, why did some people argued and cut those branches of that great Banyan Tree, I inquired. The villagers were told that cutting off those huge branches was advent for carrying the electrical line. The village was supposed to get electricity for 24 hours, Shyam acknowledged. But was the cutting of those colossal branches being only the solution, I advocated? Shyam told me that he wrote many letters to the District Forest officer and all the higher Posts and met them personally till he recognized that the Place of Banyan Tree was acquired by some near relative of Grampradhan ( The elected leader of the village). He purchased it. Shyam added and permitted the electrical officer to manage to cut of the Branches and Posed himself as the hero of the village for bringing the permanent electrification in the village as was one of the manifestoes of the Grampradhans election.

Then what about those Old folks, they ever opposed to the decision of cutting off the Branches, I enthusiastically inquired? They tried their best to perform and I also managed them to file the complaint but. Alas, the young learned villagers advocated for the cutting of the Branches, as they had their reasons and varying issues, Shyam reciprocated. Some said, who has the time to celebrate under this Old Banyan tree when there are good hotels, restaurants, party halls available in the town. The others told that owing to the large spread of the Banyan tree they were hardly able to call for the building of road due to which they had problems in reaching their house while using Cars, or any four-wheelers. Many of them expressed that now all types of programs are aired on Television, this is a modern-day concept, then why to live with that old patterned celebrations and that Old Banyan Tree. Hence its branches were cut to a minimal.

Shyam reveals the existence of That Great Banyan Tree.

Now do people, especially those Old Folks visit or stand near it, for their usual gossips, and what about the knotting of the Swings in Savan, I further interrogated? The people are now living with modern-day concepts in our village. The native of Pradhan has eliminated,” That great Banyan tree”, Shyam’s voice dimmed, as if, he was in deep pain while narrating me, I remember. Instead, a multi-storeyed market Place has been Built over there, by that native. While the village seems to be void of any living creatures, those old rituals, everyone is busy with their routine of earning bread and butter and uses his left time to watch the aired Programmes on Television.A-Short-Story-That-great-Banyan-Tree

The government claims that soon they will be providing a warehouse on the ground floor of the market while Pradhan and his natives are busy with anchoring themselves with the modernization of the village, you may find some old folks walking in destitute for not being able to share those old stories with their contemporaries. AND hence they feel, or they are forced to feel that they are the leftovers, while the world is seemingly progressing, Shyam reverted while turning his back to me. I was convinced of the clouds of thoughts perpetuating as droplets through his eyes, as his voice reverberated, while he was hiding his face from me, I remember.

Kumar is smashed and looted

A-Short-Story-That-great-Banyan-TreeI was shaken, smashed, and presumably felt being looted away for not only taking away,” That Great Banyan tree” but the glory of my village, the culture of my villagers, our customs, traditions, and all those times, that the Great Banyan Tree had provided through the ages. How would the people collect than, at a commonplace, many will not have money to attend those big restaurants, Hotels, etc. How will they attend the marriage of our Village Girls, why the newly weeded bride will then visit our Village while finding no swings knotted on the Banyan tree, anymore,  How come the younger ones of my village will be handed over the legacy of Culture, tradition, learning from our old folks, our endowed respects to our guests, what about the gatherings of those old Folks, the mothers in the village, their celebration and the Swamiji and his sermons., all have drowned, I suppose. I reverted to Shyam.

Swami’s words influence Kumar.

Guide-to-indian-tourismMy eyes started with a shower while my cheeks became wet, I realized as if someone has landed me in no man’s land, A sudden voice with all calmness penetrated my ears, Om Shanti! Shanti! Shanti! Om! (Live for peace)Swamiji stood near me, I turned my face to just wipe my seemingly unstoppable tears. Let them shed off or else they will fell you heavy, replied Swamiji, his face blistering, as usual looking very cool and composed. I just bent and touched his feet saying, I have lost everything Swamiji. No, my boy, there is nothing to lose or gain here, in this world, replied Swamiji. The time is everchanging. One must adapt to it. Stay here for a day or two he advised or if you want then visit your village Afterall you are back after many years, I suppose, recalled Swamiji.

Kumar returns back to build back

I would like to stay here. I replied while Shyam became more than Happy, to listen to me, prolonging my time of Stay, I presume. After having a bath inside Tube well, I was ready with Shyam, working for ground support by peeling and cutting the vegetables. We were running for every help as if leaving no chance to recall our past while serving to the destitute. Followed by those rich sermons sung in, when evening was shaping to Night, I got delighted and Shyam was not indifferent.

While returning, Shyam asked me for the probable time for my next visit, to which, I promised him within a few days, only. I will implant many Banyan trees, we both will, and call our contemporaries, I suggested Shyam, he nodded head, still many will come, I believe, Shyam was Positive.  I saw Shyam, raising his hand till he disappeared while the Bus took a turn.

Now, completing another Tea, again, I am busy packing my bags for my next trip to my village at Naglakanchan. But this time to Build again, by implanting many Banyan Tress, Shravan, and his friends will also be accompanying me. Yes, Youth has also the desire to Build Back, we have just to find the ways to transport our legacy to them, make them believe that True modernization cannot sustain without the inheritance of deep-rooted culture.Guide-to-indian-tourism

A short story of that Great Banyan Tree also reveals that it is the sense of togetherness which is the most important and eminent factor to be recognised by all of us. The way of leaving an isolated style of life will lend us No where. We can away very short span of happiness but not a permanent one. The happiness is the one which requires sharing and money hardly matters for the existence of the happiness.
Predominately speaking Implanting of those huge trees can only hold us together, as the roots have their expertise in holding those huge trees. So, we have just to grow as many as we can.

I have initiated, But what about you?

Grow more Banyan Tree and travel through the Privileges n legacy of old times. Enjoy togetherness with all. Leave leading an isolated life.

Alistor Cook in haste to leave his passengers.

If you can afford me with some change it will be fine as, I have still to drive many miles till, I reach my Home, uttered Alistor Cook, to his passengers, while drooping them in one of the Apartments, near Silver stand stone Valley. Alistor owns a Taxi permit and he usually drives for 8-10 hours to fetch Bread and butter to his Family. Since he was driving from about 9.30 Am in the morning, he was busy to move to his abode at the shortest time to see his two little kids and a beautiful wife along with his old age mother and father whom he adored much.

A short story – They say we are dead. The wristwatch beeped, yet again to reveal that it was 9.00 PM of the monsoon season in Walken mountains, on that very Friday. This hastened Alistor, to make him sit at Driver’s Seat and put his authentic pressure on the car escalator.

Alistor’s call to His wife

A short story – They say we are dead. I will be back Jennifer, within 2 hours, you better take dinner with father and mother, just convey my both angels that, I have ordered a very Big Cake, with Dark forest Pastries and Snacks from Roziers Pastry Shop, for our celebrations on Saturday, he completed the call while still driving the car. Jennifer is Alistor’s, wife.

Alistor and his wife have usual trend of making their second Saturday of the month, great. The family parties, while calling some neighbours and family persons for morning prayers, when the priests visit their residence. This further continues with Holy Sermon and then, starts the Party, with all food, music and dance, till the evening shades to Night.

Alistor was not much content with this week’s earning made from his Taxi. However, he was convincing himself that it happens every year in the monsoon that the rains effect his Business and todays day was also not indifferent. His talk to himself vehemently stooped with the huge droplets of water pouring on the Car screen which forced him to switch his wiper. Oh, God uttered, Alistor in discomfort, its too much today, I am late and yet the rains are playing with me, Alistor fastened his wipers.

Alistor and the Johns Coffee Shop.

A short story – They say we are dead. The rains started to shape in a thunderstorm while Alistor was quick to acknowledge Johns closed coffee shop. He parked the car and move out to clean the glasses of front and rear side. Johns, I, Alistor just open the door, I need your help, lauded Alistor. The Doors of the shop opened while, John stood smiling. Yet, again, you are late with some of your passenger drooping’s and you require a very strong coffee, is that true or some other help, Alistor? John asked compassionately. Alistor was usual with his smile which perfectionated his desire of a very strong coffee.

Till I clean my car, you can execute the Plan for a good coffee, said, Alistor. How is Jenny? Jenny is Johns wife, they recently married in William Church where Alistor owned the responsibility as a Transport manager to manage, the family and friends from the Winshiel railway station to Orchardful valley in Walken mountains, where they both got married in William church. She has gone to her mothers Place ,will be bringing her mother for some vacations, here, replied John.

My Car was clean, I have wiped out all the stains of the Droplets and now, I could say that yes, now the visibility is fine. While my both the cloth pieces used for cleaning Car got stained and I manged to wash them through the Tap outside the shop of John’s coffee shop.

Never felt like, I am doing something under some pressure. They adore me and I like to live for them.  Henceforth these murky conditions are not able to stop me from my routine, I delivered authentically to Johns. Thanks for the coffee, It will make me drive, easily, say my hello to Jenny. Visit my Place on Saturday of the coming month, we will enjoy, then. I hastily replied and was quick to lock my seat belt and drive.

The two pair of legs moving in the middle of the road while the story initiates under the name, “They say we are dead”

A-short-story-They-say-we -are -deadI was abashed within a moment seeing the pairs of Two legs moving within the middle of the road and nearing my car, I managed my Cars focus and got relieved that two Gentlemen’s with their face covered by the Hat were moving. Passengers, I supposed. They floated their hands to stop me. I followed their signal. Hey, gentleman not even carrying umbrella, you both are wet. Yes, we are, a voice of Authority pierced my ears. Request you to drop us near Muskintomb, we must reach Richerview valley. Can you Drop us.

Muskin tomb was in midway to my Abode and, I needed business too. I affirmatively replied, have a seat Sir, while there  are some pieces of Dry Clothes which you can use while sitting. This will help me avoid my seat covers from being wet. Within no time they occupied the seat while, I was on road, again. Feeling pleasure for making some earnings for Saturdays expenses.A-short-story-They-say-we -are -dead-5

Alistor in conversation with two Police officers, in a short story named, “They say we are dead”

Guide-to-indian-tourismWhere are you coming from? I inquired them. Stainford Police station., was the reply. Before, I could ask, another voice came with a reply that they were Police Personals and Posted over there. Yes, Sir, my voice changed. But you could have carried umbrella, I asked them. Seeing them wet. You are right, Alistor, but we manage to keep dry while our coverings are wet. Good Idea. Your raincoat seems to be of Good Quality. Policeman require those, special, clothes, I presumed.

A-short-story-They-say-we -are -deadYou know my name, I asked them while making myself to view them through the mirror, just located to view back seat activity, while driving, but, I could manage with seeing the hands holding their Hat, which was covering their face, most importantly because they both sat while bending the Head, probably to help my car seat covers from being wet. Policeman know everything, one of them replied. His voice sounding to be very gentle and Polite. Yeh, that is true. I thought of being one of the Popular people.

Now, is it fine with the Police station, I inquired, remembering that it got rattled in one of the mountain slides and All the Policeman on Duty, almost 15 of them got buried underneath, and died. Yes, one of them replied, everything, is usual accept those who died.

Friends and family of the Police officers, in a short story named, “They say we are dead”

But what about their family and friends who might be facing a lot of adversities, I suppose till the grant is sanctioned by the Governance, one of them asked?  Sure, they will be facing, I replied.

Guide-to-indian-tourismYes, Alistor, a voice raised again, but then the Dead Policeman are also having some responsibility which, I think they should complete, the voice was sharp and dominant. Oh, Sir you seem to be Joking, I reverted with a lauded Laugh. How came the one who are dead complete the responsibility, I asked? , but again trying to see their reaction till the light of the heavy Truck from behind swayed my perception of analysing their faces.

A voice came with a reply that the Dead ones can help By promoting the cause of their accident and making the Living persons to realise that the Dead, also had their families which now may be starving for Food and Shelter and Living persons henceforth should support their families. I was not at all convinced but the voice of one of them just like a Policeman who could revert with Police action, if I resonated, left me with no choice than utter my words in my mouth, only.

The role of the Dead Person , in a short story named, “They say we are dead”

Alistor don’t get disgraced we are talking to you as one of our friends, but not like Policeman, a silence of many minutes was broken with a gentle voice. The clouds were thundering with a scared lightening, while I was deeply intruding of how can dead people manage helping for the cause? What these Policeman were talking off? I am not feeling unusual, I reverted.

Since when you are working in Stainford Police station, I asked, almost since last 5 Years, was the reply. But accident only occurred 11 months back, I surprisingly asked? Yes, reverted one of them. So, what, his voice lauded as if raising a question to me? I murmured that, news said all who were on the duty died. A laugh of arrogance sounded in my ears saying, what to do with destiny, Death doesn’t even count that much responsibilities by a person are yet to be completed whom she is otherwise taking away. Yes, you are true, I uttered them.

Passengers Dropped at Muskin Tomb, a graveyard. In a short story named, “They say we are dead”, nearing its end.

I was nearing Muskin Tomb, where almost 5 policeman who Died owing to landslide were buried. Gentleman, I have to drop you nearby or exactly on the gates of Muskin Tomb, I inquired. Drop us near MuskinTomb, Alistor, we know you are in haste to move to your residence so, as we are. I was convinced.

I parked my Car near that huge Tomb and asked for Taxi Charges. Just Hold on a minute a gentle voice replied, we have much to do, to see our Family, their food, help them resolve day to day issues, lot many works. Yeh, I replied. Just give me change as I am running short of change, I told them, as they unoccupied my car. I saw them getting down, when a light of the Truck, I suppose the same one again, flashed My eyes for a moment while my Passengers were not visible to me.

Alistor finds the Passengers, in a short story named, “They say we are dead”

A-short-story-They-say-we -are -deadI lauded my Voice, where are you? Please pay the Bill, I am not able to see you? I was in anger, I remember. Policeman, how you can escape without paying the Bill? I lauded again.  I gradually moved towards the gate of Muskin Tomb, a graveyard one of the largest. I was mortified. I saw 2 figures Just walking fiercely towards graves and calling them for awakening, the sound gradually converted in Hauling. My feet started trembling and only a 100 metres of distance where, I parked my car appeared to me to be far off. I slowly managed my trembling feet to move towards my car thinking of my Family for whom, I must live. After me doing my best to reach to the Driving seat, I managed my car to start with those shaking hands. Finally, I managed to reach at my Home.

Does Alistor reach his Home with all his good self? in a short story named, “They say we are dead”

A-short-story-They-say-we -are -deadPerturbed, exhausted and full of fear, I kept on Pushing the Bell, Jennifer was at the Door, what happened, Alistor, you are continuously pushing the Doorbell. Nothing happened, I remember trying to re-collect myself. What about your hand Bag, Lunch Box and water bottle, Jennifer inquired? I will bring them in morning, I rushed with answer. I pleaded her to switch on every Lights of our room, which she did. But her staring eyes were able to read me.

What and why are you fearing for Alistor, tell me? We both will resolve it.  We will surely manage, As usual she was very confident and passionately covered me with her both hands. Nothing to fear, my love she repeated. What has happened, she again asked me, just let me know but before that change your dress and have your dinner.

I grasped her hands and asked her to not leave the dining area till I manage myself in bathroom. As usual I found my night dress in bathroom and was quick to change. Jennifer was waiting outside my bathroom. Her eyes still looking me and managing with comfortable gesture.

Alistor narrates the story to Jennifer, pivot of a short story named, “They say we are dead”.

I followed her in Kitchen till she was on the dinning table. I was fearing to be alone. Everything will be all right she murmured. I nodded my head while managing to complete my Dinner. We were quickly on Bed and I narrated her with all what happened. She gasped and told that you have met with the one of the two souls of Policeman and more importantly you will have to trace their family and just visit them. They Just signalled you with all this, as I can recollect. Jennifer authentically replied. Off course, I will do, but you come along with me., I made my request.

Visit of Alistor and Jennifer to Policemen’s residence, findings of a short story named, “They say we are dead”.

We were on to the graveyard where, I saw them. It was not late than I recognised there were two tombs which those figures neared the other Night. Nicholas and David were the names as deciphered by me through the writing on their Tomb.

A-short-story-They-say-we -are -deadWith some Cakes, Pastries and Snacks which, I have ordered for the Saturday, I managed to find their address. They were survived by their wives and 2 children’s, each. I and Jennifer knocked their individual doors of their cottages and shared with all we have brought, in two gift packages. Their children seemed anxious to unwrap the Gift packages.

The widow wives of the 2 Police persons murmured that now they have visited you, aren’t they? We were surprised, to listen them. Sorry for being disturbed by our late husbands, their wives murmured in discontent, both expressing in their own way. Jennifer was quick to reply that we are not disturbed at all, since now and surely, we will keep on visiting you while you can Join us on our Saturdays.

Alistor and Jennifer Still visit Residence of those 2 Policemen.

Jennifer told that they still carry on caring for you and entire family, I suppose, while we say they are dead. But they are more than alive and with you always. She further expressed. May their Soul rest in peace, she uttered, while symbolising Her offerings to the Almighty.

Back in my car towards our residence, we hastily started our Saturday preparations. I have since observed a drastic change in My Life. Now, I am the owner of a Travelling Company with as many as 8 cars, but we still have a practice to visit the House of those two Policemen’s, might be their blessings have put gear to my Driving Services propagate to a Travelling company. Who Knows? But yeah, Sharing is caring, I have a deep belief.
