Music of south India with their using of amazing instruments embellish the persona of the Environment. The amazing classical music tradition of the South is termed Karnatak Samgita. Carnatic music is the crown jewel in the celebration of South Indian culture. Usually revolving around two ragas. Additionally there are 72 melakartha or parent ragas in the lexicon of this musical tradition. Mainly sung through kriti or composition. Carnatic musical performances center around a principal performer. The peculiar melodic instrument (usually a violin) and a drumming instrument (which is often a mridangam)is used . Other instruments that are commonly associated with Carnatic music are ghatam, kanjira, morsing and chitraveena. However there are much more musical forms also, which are practiced in South India.
